Background

The son of a pirate, Rhaya'a likely would have taken the same path, were it not for overwhelming sea sickness, and the death of much of his mother's crew during the Calamity.Until recently, Rhaya'a was best known as a petty conman who would attempt to swindle adventurers passing through Limsa Lominsa. His favorite con was selling "keystones" to "ancient ruins," which in truth were worthless baubles.After a few too many run-ins with adventurers who knew better, he decided to try his hand in other areas. These attempts were met with little to no success. Yet fate conspired to bring him to Ishgard. There he met an adventurer he had once tried to con. Despite their rocky beginning, she saw fit to not only offer him a place to stay, but to help introduce him at the Athenaeum Astrologicum, home of Astromancy in Eorzea. As it turns out, he has a talent for it.

Recently

Rhaya'a did something incredibly foolish. He attempted to abandon and even betray his closest friends for the promise of an easy, well-paying job. All that was involved was delving into a warded off portion of the Wanderer's Palace, accessing a blocked off study that contained artifacts which had not seen the light of day since the fall of Nym.What he found in there nearly killed him. He only lives today thanks to the help of the same friends he sought to leave behind. And while he is not inclined to share specifics, any who knew him before might note the differences that have come over him. Not least, the change in his fur and eye color.

Resident of Ishgard: As a Keeper of the Moon and someone unaccustomed to the cold climes of Coerthas, Rhaya'a tends to stick out in the city. He can often be found haunting the Brume or the Forgotten Knight.Limsa Native: Anyone with knowledge of Limsa Lominsa will likely recognize his accent the moment he opens his mouth. For all his skill as a conman (which isn't much), faking accents is not one of them.Astrologian: As a student of the Athenaeum Astrologicum, he has a reputation for being overly reliant on innate talents and a surplus of aether, as well as having easily wounded pride. He is still new to the trade, and doing his best to make the most of it. However, change is never easy.Conman: Many an adventurer who has passed through Limsa Lominsa has a tale about a grinning Miqo'te with a "keystone to ancient ruins." He has mostly given that up since coming to Ishgard, but sometimes people are just asking for it.Healer for Hire: It turns out adventuring pays much better than swindling people. Rhaya'a is always keeping an ear to the ground for work to be had.Strange Aether: Rare is the ability to see the color of one's soul, but there are ways. Those with this ability may notice that his has more colors than it ought to.

Other RP and Notes: I could be interested in just about anything. Just speak with me about what you want and what you're looking for, and we may be able to make it work. That said, Rhaya'a is heavily based on existing FFXIV lore. Bending the lore can be fun, but going outside it and/or going against it isn't something I'm really interested in doing. I am 21+ and prefer those I RP with to be as well.
